Re: Questions about upbringing

Ahh, you mentioning carrying them in public kind of made me laugh. Plenty of pickup trucks have gun racks mounted in the back window, and generally have a few rifles stored there from Sept-Dec for hunting. And shooting at poachers, or shooting at rival poachers.

Or trespassers! I got shot at once for straying into a fringe of wooded area that bordered a school. Whoops! But it was cool, I wasn't hit.

I can see people carrying rifles in their trucks for hunting!

...I'm curious as to where you live though, that someone would shoot at you for trespassing on their land. That's...a huge overreaction.

I dunno, I guess lots of places do that. When I told my parents, they basically face faulted at me and told me to stop getting on to other people's property. Or be more vigilant about where I end up.

Especially during hunting season, poachers can be inconvenient and downright dangerous. Most of them aren't the brightest people on the planet, and generally have prior convictions, so they're liable to hurt you or kill you if you catch them while they're armed.

So property owners generally have no problem firing off a warning shot to intruders, since they could be poachers. Or fucking crazed assholes, there's a lot of those too. Bathsalt users. Or kids who engage in petty crime for thrills.

So yeah, generally nothing good comes out of someone being on your property. So I wasn't too offended when they shot at me. :D

See, I live in the south so I suppose this shouldn't be a surprise, but I'm also a homebody and never really go 'exploring'. You've taught me a few things.

Wanting to keep poachers off your property is a good reason. *nod* I've been raised in a relatively safe area, because the only time someone steps on our property is to visit.
