Wow, this brings back a memory that I haven't thought about in years. My best friend in elementary school and his twin brother often came over to play at my house. In the summer, we'd hang out in the basement because it was comfortably cool down there. They both freaked out hard one time because one twin turned the lights off as a joke and the other swore he saw Lord Zed standing next to the far wall in the dark. Only ... he looked bloody? Closer to what you'd expect with a real person whose skin had been removed. Nothing happened. According to my friend, he was just standing there. It didn't keep us from watching PR. It didn't keep us from hanging out in the basement, either, although they were antsy for awhile. I'm writing all of this out because I thought you might like to know that you're (apparently?) not quite alone. I'd also like to say that I'm glad you kept your wits about you. That must have been an isolating experience.

I'd now like to conduct a study on how common it is for young children to hallucinate Power Rangers villains.

I know, right? I'd rather not be studied, but this secret made me wonder if it happened to anyone else. And if it had something to do with the Power Rangers show, which otherwise hadn't occurred to me. I figured the source material could have been anything. The experience was unnerving because, well, potentially threatening subjective experience and distorted perception of reality.

It wasn't Power Rangers, but when I was /sure/ I saw this really creepy grim reaper-esque thing in the school woods once when I was like, 6 or 7-ish. I've never hallucinated before or since then, but god damn 7 year old me was sure that was real.
