There is someone out there. Right now. Who likes me. Maybe even loves me. Who is pursuing me, because he thinks I'm brilliant. Who told me that just my voice makes him smile. Who has never seen my face and yet loves me for my words. Who didn't mind when I told him I was a Schrodinger's cat and I wasn't ready to open the box yet. Who is patient, and kind, and sweet, and adorable, and can sing and play ukelele. In short, the guy I daydream about is actually out there and actually talking to me and actually likes me. And he lives within driving distance.
And a part of me wants to just hop in the car right now and drive that distance, pyjamas and all, and throw myself at him because oh my stars this is not a coffeeshop AU this is my life. The only reason I'm not is because a bigger part of me knows that this is a really bad idea and will only end in tears. But I'm not sure if that's just me being paranoid and full of low self-esteem or if I have genuine concerns about this but I'm just so happy and I needed someone to share it with.

Keep this moment in mind and remember how happy you are, and keep this comment you posted handy. So when you've calmed down a bit and have really thought through your concerns, you can remember exactly why you considered this, and that way you won't let your paranoia and low self-esteem convince yourself out of a good thing unless your concerns are really genuine.

If you've thought about it, and if your concerns still do not really feel substantial even after you've combed them over (and if possible, talked about them with someone else who has better perspective), go for it. When people say their biggest regrets are not the things they tried and failed at, but the things they've never tried at all, it's not a platitude. It could be one of the best decisions you ever make!
