It's such a cute term for female fans I love it. So I hope there's nothing negative about it!

And yeah I try to be nice to him because I'm aware he's got some kind of social awkwardness thing going on, but sometimes I'm like "dude... Come on..." Like when I'm sitting with my headphones on trying to work on Japanese and be sits down and starts talking. Then I'm like "so I say something, should I turn my music off, what do I do??"

Or he gets super surprised when I tell him I don't know certain spoilers. He's like "but it's EVERYWHERE how can you not know??? How did you manage to avoid being spoiled (up until he spoiled me assuming I'd know. And granted I live for spoilers but come on). He doesn't seem to understand that I don't frequent the pony sites or anything. It's been three weeks and every on e in a while he still goes "I still don't get how you managed to avoid that spoiler..."

Recently he's started bringing up the darker fanfics like casually dropping the Cupcakes thing and seeing if I recognize it and being quick to inform me be doesn't read those fics. But he still wants to talk to me at length a out how weird they are.

Sometimes I feel like being like "dude I've been on the Internet a long time."

Yeah, I've known people like that...it IS awkward.

Maybe if you have your music up pretend you don't hear him? Maybe glance at him and nod like you acknowledged him but it's clear you're busy? Maybe try going somewhere else before class to spend your hour break? :s idk man, situations like that can be hard to deal with without bruising someone's feelings.

Yeah I've started going to an alcove on one of the other floors to avoid him.

I'm usually the person who's like "hey just be blunt about it" but in this case he's not doing anything to warrant being blunt. I tried just turning it up and pointing at my earphones and my work to show I'm busy but he'll just keep talking.

I once had another girl who joined the conversation to ask me how Japanese was going and after a couple seconds of taling he butt in to tell me more about MLP and it was just awkward. If it keeps up I might have to talk to him about it or something but.

Oh, no problem! I know dealing with people like that can be awkward because, well...they're not being malicious, so what do you do? Best of luck. If you know other people in the class (like that other girl?) maybe you could recruit them to join you sometimes and balance out the conversation a little more?
