I just found out that the nursing home my grandma is in is getting shut down due to safety concerns to staff and residents (or so the official line is.)

The building is 60s-vintage to begin with; one of the elevators is always broken, too. But you know -- I just can't say I really like how things are run over there. Grandma hates it there and I don't like the staff, who are negligent, bureaucratic, and getting them to do anything is like pulling teeth.

I hate that. I don't understand why people do what they do when they hate it so much. Laziness seems to be top priority.

It was like that for my grandma too. I hated seeing her in such a poorly run place

Money, and you can get a job with reasonably little education.

If only we had more people in every field that wanted to be there... But life sucks too much.

I don't really have anything of substance to say (other than it sounds kind of like a blessing that this place is getting shut down if it's awful and everyone hates it) I'm just hear to comment on the infinite amusement I got out of seeing this:

I hope you are able to find a place where your grandma is happier and gets better care. If the nursing home is actually being shut down, she, and your family, are probably very lucky that she's getting out of there safe and sound.
