I'd say people were probably more upset about him joking about a 9-year-old girl being molested than "giving the middle finger to Hollywood's annual circlejerk".

I think you misinterpreted the joke, which was that in sixteen years she'd be too old for Clooney, which is a joke about Clooney being pathologically unable to date someone who isn't half his age and has little to do with the girl herself.

I think involving the nine year old in any of the jokes was a bad idea, but it's not as if he did something as bad as the Onion.

Ew, people interpreted that as a molestation joke? I took it as the dig at George Clooney dating young women thing.

Honestly I wonder what it says about someone when their brain goes straight to child molestation

Actually he was mocking George because of his thing about only dating young 20 somethings. It was to point out how icky that is by using her as an example.

Still tasteless, but uh, no.
