That would depend on cultural/historical/geographical context. Where I grew up, the average was mid-teens to early 20s (my friend from the UK was absolutely gobsmacked at the idea of people here still being virgins in their 20s). There were obviously other factors (people with extremely religious and conservative families tended to lose their virginity either much earlier or much later), and there's the added wrinkle of homophobia in the scenario we're talking about.

What I see a lot of in fic is two attractive dudes in a modern setting who are in their 30s-40s and have never had sex with anyone, and somehow manage to have amazing sex with each other. I'm not saying that it's impossible, but it's statistically improbable. As I reader, I want more of an explanation than: "I'm only gay for you and waited for it to be TRU WUV."

Nice job deflecting from your implication that if you're still a virgin at a certain age, there's something wrong with you--either you're ugly or a case of arrested development.
