What you call tumbleweeds, I grew up calling "Russian thistles." I never heard of "tumbleweeds" until I moved to LA county. I'm from Bakersfield, which is a linguistic anomaly because we're full of descendents of Okies/other midwest migrants. What does the rest of f!s call those things and where are you from?
