What are some pairings that you used to ship like crazy, but that you eventually stopped liking? I can be because it just stopped appealing to you, the characters changed, you realized some things that rubbed you the wrong way as you matured, or you just don't really care about the fandom anymore...etc.

Everything I used to ship that was teenager/adult. When I was fifteen, I had no problem shipping fourteen-year-olds romantically with twenty-year-olds. Now that I'm 22, not so much.

Ha! Yes, this. I remember I used to love Holly Black's Tithe, and I shipped the centuries old fairy with the "human" teenager. Now I can't believe how creepy it is.

Yeah I'm kind of 'meh' on Gamzee/Terezi since it became canon.

There's just nothing more to care about. Wow. They're together. 38|.

Roy/Ed (FMA) My first slash ship, but now I can't even read it.

Me too. Well, to be honest I can't say I shipped it OMG THAT HARD, but I used read lots of fic. Now that I'm a bit older, the age gap bothers me a lot more than it did then.

Exactly. I wasn't rabid, but I liked it. Not anymore, because of the age gap and because I couldn't see what attracted me to it in the first place, especially in the manga, which I still love to bits, however.

Brenda/Dylan from the original 90210 (totally making myself look older than I am right now). When I was little I didn't think much of it beyond she's pretty, he's pretty, and Kelly's a whiny bitch. When I rewatched the series as an adult I thought that Dylan and Kelly deserved each other and Brenda was the only character I didn't end up hating.

Most of the pairings I've ever shipped fall into this category. I get rabidly into a pairing and then gradually lose interest.

I was a Mulder/Scully 'shipper back when that word had an apostrophe. =)

Frodo/Sam. I read the book/s when I was a kid and just didn't see ships, the movies came out when I was in my early-mid teens and shipped everything that moved, and now I pretty much see them as platonic soul mates, but not romantically or sexually attracted to each other. Teenage me didn't really have much interest in non-romantic love, now I adore those relationships. It's still my favourite relationship in the series, just not... a ship.

Makorra. I shipped it so hard in the beginning, then came ep 5 and aarrrrr.

In the former's case, the characters started to annoy me - especially Belle - and in the latter, I stopped liking the show, but I still ship Holmes/Watson. If that makes any sense(?)

Germany/Italy in Hetalia.
I dunno, I sort-of moved away to other pairings and now generally don't care for these two.

Same. Now I view them as best friends and nothing more.

The only time this happens to me is when the fic consistently is just not my cup of tea. And I wouldn't say I stop shipping ANYTHING. If I liked it once, I think I like it permanently. But I'll stop looking for fic and art, and fic and art are generally 80 percent of the fun for me, so it really does take the wind out of my sails when it happens.

Prime example: Harry/Hermione. Couldn't care less about the ship wars and the wank. Just didn't like the fic. At all.

About the Harry/Hermione, I casually kind of shipped them, but just in a, "It would be fun if..." way, but people were taking it so seriously and demanded that it be canon that I was really turned off to it. It didn't help that I shipped Ron/Hermione a little more.

Harry/Draco

Got boring after awhile. Now I ship their kids. Just kidding.

John/Karkat. I used to ship them so hard until one day I just had this epiphany that they just don't really have much chemistry together. It just doesn't click for me at all anymore. Odd, considering I ship Karkat with basically everyone else in the cast. Okay not literally but close

I think I've actually switched my ships a little bit. I used to think that Dave/Karkat was totally bleh and I was all about John/Karkat and now it's the opposite (I finalllly started shipping Dave/Karkat after one of the recent updates)

US/UK in Hetalia. the fandom killed it for me, and it wasn't even because it's everywhere or anything like that. Because their dynamic in fic and art is just so darn annoying. Blehhhhh

Red/Yellow in Pokespe. I shipped it after they finally met, but then oh my god why the fuck is Yellow a dainty damsel now AAAUUGGGH i hate it so much gdi. Also, I like the idea of Yellow/Gold much better, and RGB OT3 4 LYFE. orz

Kate/Sawyer in Lost. Yeah. Part of what killed it was love triangle bullshit drama being so persistent I started to hate both characters (and also Jack). The other part was moving on to the wonderful (for me) that is Juliet/Sawyer and Kate/Claire 8) ♥
