Yep. Looks terrible. Brown? And the horns look silly--not stylish Maleficent horns. And you know we're in for some sort of "Oh, she's not THAT bad, I'm sure Aurora's mom pissed her off some how!" because Maleficent is so popular. Completely missing the point of why everyone loves her so much.

Oh God, she has the potential to be the next Loki. *shudders*

Part of Maleficent's charm is just how silly her vendetta is.

I mean, if they went with an angle that involved the other three fairies and their backstory, I'd be interested.

I know. Maleficent basically has it all: she's scary, she's cool, she's over-the-top, she's refined and intimidating, she's elegant and fearsome, and she has Eleanor Audley's voice. She has presence, and a lot of that has to do with how you only see bits and pieces of her.

I can't see Jolie pulling off intimidating elegance at all. I can't see her flying into rages and shooting lightning but also being sweetly mocking to heroic princes.

And her costume looks stupid.

I'm not sure if Jolie could pull off the lollsterskates and drama without coming off as too cheesy. Maleficent might just be one of those characters that works better animated instead of live action.

Well, if it makes you feel better, watch Maleficent address some very wealthy hillbillies.

IDK... I have seen a LOT of on-set photos that looked dreadful but were completely different in post-production after CGI editing. *still holding out hope*
