You are not alone, anon, you are not alone. Seirin will probably win against Rakuzan because the genre demands it, no matter how unrealistic it is, but Shuutoku vs. Kaijou? SO EXCITED!! (Please no halved basketball in Seirin-Rakuzan. PLEASE.)

I'm rooting for Shuutoku, like 51%. IT'S HARD. But then Kise might pull something like perfectcopying Kagami and Akashi at the same time and win Kaijou the game and while I would be sad for Shuutoku (BECAUSE SHUUTOKU), I'll be happy Kaijou got at least 3rd place.

Or Kise will be benched for the whole time because some sensible person realizes that hey, that leg? Should perhaps rest. Like. For some time.

Which makes the match uninteresting unless Midorima gets benched, too. They can bench-angst together.

I just really really hope this gets lots of chapters.

Let's be excited together about this, anon! Tbh I'm not sure who to root for - on one hand Kaijou favourite team forever, on the other hand I love Shuutoku too and they've lost more so I also want to see them win... I won't rest the possibility of Seirin losing, though, maybe they'll lose this time, then come back stronger WITH A VENGEANCE next year?

Re: Kise getting benched, whichever happens I expect lots of angsting about it - he'd be all "b-but senpai I want to make us win" but Kasamatsu'd just go "no stay on the bench stop wrecking your body". I don't know if there'd be a reason for Midorima to be benched but I am so up for bench angst x2.

I'm just. Gah. Ridiculously excited for this.

I've only seen the anime. Would you say that the manga is worth reading? I'm pretty fond of Kagami and Aomine (though not necessarily together) and I'd like to see them interact more.

as someone who also finished the anime and recently started the manga, i love it and would say definitely worth it. it gives so much more depth to everyone, aomine and kagami included and they do interact more :)

I hate to break it to you but Kaijou/Shuutoku will probably be less than a chapter long (maybe even just the result narrated).
Reasons: a)The match has to take place before the final but Fujimaki won't want to lose momentum from the Teikou flashback and will go straight to Kuroko v Akashi.
b)Kise can't play so Shuutoku will obviously win.

I'm with you on this because I love Kaijou and I want to watch their game more than anything. It will be a dire injustice if they don't win, like it was not bad enough that they lost to Seirin again.
