I need a keeper

What I really need is someone who will force me to write no matter what. Like once a week I have to send them what I've written or a certain number of pages or chapters or whatever, or SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES. I don't know what those consequences would be, but that is hardly the point. The point is that although technically I am an adult I can't seem to get anything done and need someone to keep me on track and set some hard deadlines. Where does one find one of these magical people?

When I was getting into crunch time for my thesis, I asked my mom if she would check in with me daily and ask me what I'd gotten done that day, and she was happy to humor me. Just feeling like I was accountable to someone motivated me to do at least some work every day, even if the only "consequence" for not working would be that my mom would be a little disappointed in me.

So... maybe a family member who you're close enough to that they would be willing to do some regular check-ins?
