(Anonymous) 2013-03-02 01:02 am (UTC)(link)I have a minute now, so some thoughts on your sandwich: it sounds really good! Grilling the ciabbata sounds like it'd bring a nice combo of crusty and bready, and combined with the general filling textures, I don't think you'll have anything to worry about in regards to construction. And I think the flavors would probably come together really well with a nice combination of the smoke from the cheese and ham and the flavor of the pesto.
I'd probably add some arugula or some other similar green, so you have the bitterness cutting through the unctuous fat and smoke of the other ingredients somewhat, but then I really like arugula. But I think it could definitely benefit from a note of bitterness or spiciness or something.
All in all, though, a delicious sandwich.
