I was also born the same year The Lion King was released! And yes, it was definitely part of my childhood.

But if you ask me, the greatest movie that year was The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

E.T., The Dark Crystal, Conan the Barbarian, Blade Runner, The Plague Dogs, The Last Unicorn, The Secret of NIMH, Tron... and hell yes they were part of my childhood.

So much of my childhood came out the year I was born.

Mine was a great year for movies, but my favourites from that year are Ghostbusters, Romancing the Stone and Dune. Oh, my word, Supergirl! Police Academy! Splash! And yes, they all loomed large in my childhood.

There was a grand total of one (count 'em) Norwegian films released in 1990, and that film was: Døden på Oslo S*! Which is/was pretty big in Norway. I dunno if I've seen it our not.

Home Alone was released too though, and I have seen that a lot of times, and apparently Tekken and Frankenhooker which I vote we watch in the Shit Stream, based only on the name of the movie!

*The Death at Oslo S (Oslo S, being the train/bus/underground station in our dear capital, also a lot of drugs and stuff)

Edit: If anyone is interested in what Døden på Oslo S is about:
The film is about the two teenage boys, Pelle and Proffen, that try to help Pelle's girlfriend, Lena, who has a drug problem. She is only 15 years old, and they initially meet at a snackbar in downtown Oslo. She has been abused by a social worker at a home for troubled teens. While they try to help Lena she runs away, they get beat up and watch people overdose at the central train station in Oslo.

The film deals with issues like drugs, troubled teens and their parents, child pornography. It's also about Pelle and Proffen's families and their different backgrounds. Pelle's parents are former hippies and very liberal, but Proffen's parents are old and conservative.

And it had the age restriction of 10 years and up...

The Jungle Books was part of my childhood, yes, as was Dr. Doolittle. The rest were too 'grown up' for childhood, though my mom loved to play her 'Camelot' LP, with Julia Andrews, and we all sang along.

Beetlejuice was released on the year I was born! I had no idea.

Also "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", which I watched when I was a kid, but wasn't a big part of my childhood or anything. I think I should rewatch that one... I bet the jokes make way more sense now |'D

The Little Mermaid is the big one from '89 that was actually part of my childhood.

Huh, looks like a number of good ones were released the year I was born. But I'm gonna go with The Land Before Time, which, yes, was definitely part of my childhood.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is the only one I see on that list that I'd count as any part of my childhood. Rain Man and Die Hard were apparently released in '88 too, though! And Beetlejuice, which I watched approximately once but my sister loved.

Land Before Time, too, which I guess was sort of part of my childhood, but the sequels were more.
