Okay. Maybe "obsessed" isn't the right word. "Enthralled" is better. Part of why I look forward to Fridays now is that I know it'll involve another foray into the insanity of the Pearls.

I want to share it with any and all people who have Train-Wreck Syndrome. I'm also disturbed enough that I want people to be aware that these sorts of folks exist, and that they exert more influence than they should. AND I wanna see if anyone else here has been following along so I can commiserate over the batshit crazy.

The Pearls? Have there been any reports of helpmeets being beaten to death the way kids were after following the advice of their other book?

Fortunately, not any that I know of. However, given that it's not uncommon for abusers to kill their victims, and given that the advice for "helpmeets" basically amounts to "allow men to abuse you"...I wouldn't be surprised.

I've been reading those, too! They make being a single woman over 30 seem like the most amazing thing that could happen to anyone, ever.
