No, it isn't. Destroying someone brain's is not more humane than prison.

And they will need care, as said above, which will also be costly. And dumping them with their family? Yeah...real swell plan, destroy their life too, while you're at it.

Something makes me think it's not about money or humanity to you - quite the opposite: i think it's about determining them to you.

I'm not a fan of the death penalty - but at least the death penalty isn't torture, ffs.

Prison is costly. Much more costly than a low intensity state care home. And way more costly to the taxpayer than the family caring for their own. If the mom and dad had done the job right then he probably wouldn't be a rapist, so I'm fine with them carrying the burden. Its their failure too.

As someone who actually took care of a relative with brain damage: fuck you. Fuck you very, very much.

Unless his parents were actually criminals too, they do not deserve to be part of the sentence.

It might be bad parenting, it might not be. Some people just grow up to be evil or malicious regardless of parenting. Some people are just mentally disturbed sexual sadists. All the apple pie and stuffed animals in the word couldn't have made them well-adjusted adults.

There are ways to make prisons less costly, by making them privately run and by making prisoners work for their keep. I'm all for that. Their life shouldn't be a pick-nick. But what you're suggesting is just disgusting.

You do not care about costs, you care about retaliation. And you do not care if entire families suffer as long as you get it.

ALL OF THIS.

It seems to be about revenge, not justice, for anon.

And prison being costly is a problem that needs to be solved, not an excuse.

Must be shocking for people to have their own opinions and not immediately believe the same things you do. Terrible, terrible.

lol I love it when people use this comment as a reply. Because obviously what bothers them is that someone disagrees - not the blatant inhumanity of your view.
