Lobotomy is not more humane than anything. Lobotomy rips out part of someone's body, part of their mind, part of their person. Lobotomy is a fundamental destruction of a part of who they are. At least for me personally, that is a level of horror above rape and above death. If you presented me a choice, "I am going to rape you, kill you, or lobotomise you, pick one" ... I think rape, maybe, rape is sometimes survivable, not only physically but mentally. You can sometimes recover from rape. You cannot recover, ever, from either of the other two.

And if it were down just to lobotomy and death, death. Just kill me. For the love of God, just kill me. I'd rather that than become a half-thing for your amusement.
