I agree. I thought their music should be, err, heavier. But it's not, too bad imo.

Each to their own! I find them very easy to listen to and often play it at work but it's perfectly fine to like the other elements and not be a fan of the music :)

Why are there suddenly a million secrets about this band?

From what I can tell, one person did a Steam Powered Giraffe secret and then somebody else did a "I checked out this band solely because of that fandom secret and wow, I liked them!" secret and it kinda took off from there.

Yeah, sadly, I am the same. They have a such a terrific look and backstory. I only felt the same about their music.

I just looked them up and watched the video for "Honeybee" and unfortunately I thought it was a little scary..but I did like the song okay.

All steampunk bands sound the same and I'm pretty tired of hearing about any of them.

I can think of three steampunk bands off the top of my head and they all have different sounds. Which bands are you thinking of?

All I know is that the fanbase for this band is obnoxious. Oh well.

I know that feel, bro! I checked their music out because I knew the band has something to do with robots, so I hoped for a futuristic electronic music, kind of like Kraftwerk, but no such luck, I was quite disappointed by their stuff.

I'm totally not surprised that a band that relies on robot makeup and subculture obsession has overrated music. It's probably one of those bands people like the idea of liking.

To me, it seems like a band that's trying way too hard. In both image and music. Not interested.

Yeah I have a friend who is pretty much the main Troy/Abed blog on tumblr and she's really into the band and while I respect that and find the steam punk stuff and the whole idea surrounding their characters interesting I also found their music underwhelming and pretty forgettable. Kind of a bummer cuz their fandom seems fun but I just can't get into it.

Idk why people are yelling at secrets for this band though. I actually think due to several factors within this comm and in the fandom itself the fandom had just grown. Makes sense that it would have 'more' secrets if the fandom was growing and more people were finding it because of this comm. Maybe just everyone hates on it because of the steampunk? If so that's dumb.
