It's just kind of like, what exactly separates Naevia's current actions from theirs? Other than it's making their poor baby Gannicus sad?

Welp, I don't watch the show, so as you've described it, nothing! But from earlier discussion, it sounds like there's a season-based difference in how the show is casting the characters' actions, that things slanted heroic in the past are slanted barbaric now.

Kinda. Only really for Naevia. Some of the heroes were killing kids and women and unarmed men only an episode and a half before Naevia's actions. And then forcing men to fight to the death for a piece of bread. So it's hard to really gauge why people want to hate on Naevia.

And I think there was an earlier secret about how after the way the rebels are behaving this season someone was rooting for the Roman leader whose name I have temporarily mislaid?

What makes you think I don't hate those other rebels too? I think Crixus is a gigantic asshole, and I've hated him since S1.
