Oh don't get me wrong, it was always there in small doses. The corset scene for example was always there. It's just gotten worse IMO. Good storylines with plenty of fanservice to interrupt it or make it silly. Case in point, the series is getting all 'Death God' Happy. I dunno, I liked it when Grell was the only one we actually saw. This is all opinion of course.

I'd like it better if Grell didn't exist.

With all the drama that the character has caused, I don't blame you. Grell can get kind of irritating too. By the end of the Romeo and Juliet OVA I was screaming, "SHUT. UP."

As much as I want more demon and evil lord things, I would take all the shinigami the mangaka can throw at me if we can finally get away from the Hogwarts/sports manga arc that's been going on. So far I've liked this most recent arc the least, and am looking forward to it wrapping up or picking up. Ceil's plans haven't seemed so much diabolical mastermind aided by the power of hell and more juvenile - diarrhea to win a cricket match...really?

I don't know, I like that he's managing it by purely human cheating and dirty tricks. As much as I'm not interested in cricket, Ciel persuading his entire house that cheating at cricket is actually required as a matter of honor is worth suffering through a sports manga arc. He doesn't often get a chance to be so gleefully rotten, without a whole lot of angst creeping in. It's like seeing him finally get a vacation.

This is one of the reasons I am enjoying this arc. Ciel is such a gray character and I love the fact that we get to see him being a pretty rotten human being, cheating, lying, and playing dirty (and reveling in it!) without any angst about it. He's starting to remind me of L from Death Note. He saves the day by solving mysteries and putting a stop to murders and what not, but he'll sure do some pretty loathsome things to get there.

I figured that being around kids has kind of rubbed off on him a bit? Something like that.

But, truth to tell, I was a bit disappointed too. Come on, boy-o! You're better than this!
