(Anonymous) 2013-03-04 05:40 am (UTC)(link)If you like it, to each their own of course. But it's hard not to get 'Hipster-y' about Kuroshitsuji when, its quality really did decline once it grew in popularity.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-04 07:15 am (UTC)(link)FWIW, though, some of us never thought it was supposed to be a mystery series. If you read it as a dark comedy, which it was practically from the very beginning, it's stayed true to form. (Yes, it has murders and demons and Jack the Ripper and such, but that doesn't make it not a comedy. Look at Grell and the Undertaker and even the first appearance of Aunt Frances: if it's not a comedy, what are they even doing there?) And comedies tend to have at least a little sexual innuendo in them: always have had, since Aristophanes and very likely since the Fall.
(Hipster, you say? We can play that game too. With or without having to call in Lau for a little not-in-the-rules help.)
