Really? Cause the majority of fandom always calls Silent Hill 2 THE BESTEST EVURR! from my experience. SH 3 is considered fun but SH 2 always is the game that wins all the praise. I can't say I agree much with your other thoughts on the game since I felt there was more to explore with the cult, Alessa, and the myths and SH 3 did just that.

I guess it's because he doesn't have much screentime aside from a phone conversation, and then is killed in his chair despite having survived an entire game full of violence. I wouldn't call it idiotic either, but eh.

Because all he does is change her name and dye her hair to hide her. He doesn't change his name or anything. No wonder she was found so easily.

I could only play SH3 once and never touched it again. It has a few good scares but I completely failed to care about the coo-coo cult shenanigan storyline. Also whacking the monsters was so tedious that I just ran past most of them and ended up beating the game in like 5 hours.

I do like Heather a lot though...

When people say "There hasn't been a decent Silent Hill game since 3," they don't mean that 3 was the peak or anything, they just mean that the games have gotten worse after this one. And like others have said, I really don't see many people calling 3 the best or their favorite.

No, the best game is SH1. Hell, I like SH4 a lot more than 3.

But everyone who knew that Alessa had given back Cheryl as a baby that wasn't Harry died down there in SH1. So how did they even know she was around TO have her tracked down? And then Harry's idea of hiding her was to name her Heather Mason and dye her hair blonde. YEAH, WAY TO GO, HARRY, THEY'LL NEVER FIGURE IT OUT.

I loved SH3 in terms of gameplay and its characters, especially the protagonist.

But SH2 just has the better atmosphere and story.

I am one of those weirdods that really liked 4 though. I mean its player character was weak as Hell but...it just creeped me out way more than the others. It felt more like an actual horror story whereas SH2 was more of a psych study.

Rage-quitted a third of the way through Homecoming, gave up on 1 because of the old school controls and haven't played Downpour.

...But Shattered Memories is my favorite. *runs*

I haven't played SH3, just watched Dena Natali's reviews about it, but I definitely get the impression that it has the best cast out of all the games. But definitely SH2 is considered the best and, having played it, I can see why.

I also am really excited to play SH4, it looks like a really interesting game.

And Shattered Memories is awesome.
