One thread got frozen. One. We've had way more wank without IP on. Case turns that on for persistent trolls not flare ups in douchiness. I don't even think he turned it on after the religion/pet wank or the attempts at repeating and drawing out over several posts of the demisexual and atheist threads.

Oh and the deleted comment. But everyone seemed to agree with his decision and OP didn't try stirring anything up further.

There were a bunch of threats mixed in. And there were several deleted posts, not just a deleted comment. The highlights of the deleted posts include a hate thread, multiple troll responses by accounts to the deleted hate thread (Case even warned them to stop), and the pictures of the breasts along with identifying info that was taken from a locked personal journal.

One thread got frozen. One thread got deleted (and it was really bad). And then we can't let it go even now, the day after. The discussion and the people involved have been unusually persistent across all of this.

I think it's basically clear that f!s is kind of incapable of talking about this subject without completely losing our collective shit, and it all kind of depends on whether we're able to let it lie and just not talk about it, or whether we care enough that people are going to keep bringing it up repeatedly.

There was more than one post deleted. It's more the nature of that post rather than the hate thread that makes me think IP logging will get turned back on.

I know there was a whole long (really bad) thread deleted. Was there more in addition to that, or just the one thread? I saw your comment upthread and I didn't realize the breasts thing was related to the whole thing. That seems kind of terrible if it's true.

The deleted hate thread was actually deleted three different times because the person targeted somehow posted a bunch of troll responses to the deleted thread after it was deleted. I have no idea how they managed it.

The breasts thread was a totally separate issue, but the nature of it is very worrying. I'm not sure if there is a precedent for something like that or not, but given the facts of someone posting another person's personal stuff like that along with identifying information, I can't help but think IP logging will be back on. Maybe I'm wrong; I think the last couple times it was because of spambot comments, but the way my mind works, IP logging would just as effectively dissuade someone from doing that, too.

Yeah again I wasn't aware of the breasts thing besides seeing the initial post. That's pretty terrible, and the whole thing is frankly pretty worrying and deplorable. I'm sure case will do whatever's necessary - and also I want to say that it would probably be best for people (IE us) not to introduce this discussion into the next thread, but to let sleeping dogs lie as much as we can - I think this discussion is fine but I really, really think it would be good to avoid it if that's at all possible. If that make sense.

Agreed. I really didn't think my original comment would generate any discussion this close to the new post going up. I'm going to shut up now and just look forward to a fresh batch of secrets and hopefully more awesome threads like the latest failbar secret ;)

There wasn't any identifying information in the breast post. Unless you can identify someone by their nipples. It was literally just boob and "how do these compare to boobs you've seen in real life... I can't tell because I've only seen porn boobs."

Was it? I feel like a thread where someone encouraged people to rate a body part someone was insecure about might have been an attempt to hurt that person.
