OMG OP, no!!! I know X-2 is dying :(, but I'm working on a few fic pieces currently! I just don't have much motivation, because I know nobody else in the fandom anymore. It's nice to see a secret every once in a while

I don't hate ao3 but I get you op. I've read pretty much every single fic of my small slash otp on ff.net, and what little there is on ao3 are reposts :(

I definitely know how you feel! I love me some good Rikku/Gippal fics and with hardly anything written in x-2 anymore it is hard to get my "ship" fix in this fandom. I really hope that with the hd release for FFX that the fandom will come back....

Seconded, to all of this. Praying that the remake gets people back into this fandom (and daydreaming about the vanishingly-unlikely possibility of X2 getting in on the remake trend... Crimson Squad boys in HD? YES PLEASE. :P)

Finding non-slash fic on A03 can be really difficult.

That's why I said 'can be'. But even so, there's no doubt that the site on the whole leans more toward slash than anything else imo. And I'd argue, disproportionately (as in more so than general fandom does).

Haha, yea, I was all over Gippal/Baralai back in the day. There was never all that much fic though (and if there was, I never found it), which was disappointing. I still think of them occasionally and sigh over the fact I don't have the links to any of my favorite fics from back then.

da, but have you read the stuff from edenbound? Doubt she still writes anything new for this, but she and Bottle of Fic (? It's been a while) were the majority of what I used to read since they had a decent amount (considering).

Ooo, I never knew there was a FF recs journal. http://ff-recs.livejournal.com/ this one, maybe? Might have to look at it later. (It's sad how empty LJ is now in terms of fandom. :/ )

I checked to make sure their LJ and DW had the same fics and it appears so. So it's just a matter of what site you like more. :)

It wasn't, unfortunately. HOWEVER, their profile links still worked, so I did find the one I used to use, which was ff_press. So sad to see it hasn't magically updated, because I checked it often. It was so easy to find all types of media with it, and if the links in the posts are still active, I'm definitely backtracking to see what I can save.

Aha, that's fine! I just wanted to mention it in case there was a worry of it being purged or the user disappearing when the move happened (as to fandom, I agree--this anon's LJ space is actually so empty that I only look at LJ every two months or so, unless I'm icon hunting. I usually don't miss anything in terms of my f-list since the few LJ-only people there never update, either).

Did you already look at the LJ comm? I am 90% sure there used to be one for them alone, but that was before the FF recs journal had to quit due to the whole Delicious shift. I would see a lot of notices from them on that.

Either way, sorry to hear you couldn't find any fic, anon :c I have pairings like that and it always sucks awfully to know nothing exists/to have a dead fandom.

Now I feel like I should dredge up the fanfic I started about the two of them after the...third? time I played the game...

It's kind of funny, because when I was in that fandom for a short while, back, back in the beginning, all I wanted was some Gippal/Baralai slash and all I found was Rikku/Gippal XD
