Firstly because Bones (in the earlier seasons) was quite adamantly childfree. I loved that we had a woman who is smart, rational, attractive, unapologetic about wanting sex, and not interested in motherhood...because it's so incredibly rare in media to see that kind of woman. It's rare to see any of those qualities - let alone all in one person.

Secondly, it didn't make sense to me. It was badly written. Even if we assume she'd changed her mind, I didn't see it on screen. Less than a year before she had trouble comprehending that having a kid for Angela and Hodgins was "the best day of their lives". Then she gets knocked up by one night of sex with Booth...really, this smart, rational woman who's had recreational sex on several occasions suddenly doesn't know how to use contraceptives anymore?

Thirdly because they changed the character so much after she became a mom it's hard to believe it's the same person anymore. Also it feels like she has compromised more towards Booth's view than vice versa.

Lastly because I think the plots went really downhill. Apparently the writers feel a need to include her domestic life in almost very episode and it's baby, baby, baby all the time. It's even worse because Angela had a kid shortly before and it's just been babies for 3 goddamn seasons now. I'm just not interested. And the subplots involving Bones' kid are just boring and/or irritating.

Oh. Well then I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on...everything Bones-related.

Well, that's okay...the world would be boring if we all agreed.

YES. Good lord. I've caught some of the new/est episodes and i just recoil. I loved it when Bones was childfree and happy about it. Now it's just incredibly annoying and, wtf, is Sweets like their live-in lovechild/nanny thing or something? Why is he *always there*?
