No, I don't. What kind of show is it?

It's a cop show set in LA, which seems to be pretty obscure for all the praise it gets. What sets it apart is that the writers and actors really try to get it right. There's a blog where a retired police officer reviews the show and pretty much every review ends with him praising the show for its realism. (Also, there's one riot scene where some people in the neighbourhood they were shooting - the show shoots on location in LA - didn't realise that what was happening was just a scene for a TV show and actually started throwing things at the police car and yelling at the actors).

Here's the trailer to the first season:

What I love about it is the diverse cast. Aside from the fact that pretty much all of the actors rock, the characters aren't just the ~interesting~ cops a la CSI. The main characters include beat cops as well as homicide and gang detectives. The characters are genuinely interesting and defined by their dedication to their job (by which I mean, Lydia is all around awesome and not just the token female and Cooper's sexuality is a non-issue, even when he comes out to his partners).

It's seriously good, IMO.

Second that Southland is a very good, very interesting and different kind of cop show - and the detective in question is *awesome* in so many ways.
