You win.

Once upon a time agentcthulhu mistook a lowly anon for nationalsecreto and gave the lonely anon a thrill unlike any they had before. The anon didn't know why it was so thrilling, all they knew as they had to have it again. So the anon watched and practiced and posted comments pretending to be various users posting anonymously all in the hopes someone would think they were the account they were imitating. But then a darkness fell over the kingdom. A darkness that shrouded all the hearts of the villagers and the anon knew that their actions -- while meant in jest -- would no longer be perceived as such if they did succeed in their quest. And so the anon returns to true anonymity.

To all the comments I made? Um, no. Sorry?

... Why would you pretend to be someone else?

It felt like cosplaying or pretending to be a spy. IDK.

Aw. You should keep trying. Just because. I think it'd be easier to imitate and recognize users with specific writing quirks. There are a few people I'd recognize anon if you snuck in a few things they are known for.

After the recent ugliness of some GC threads I just don't think this is the right environment for it anymore. :/

And I pretty much have targeted people with pretty distinct styles but also tried to soften it a little. I sort of made comments I thought they would make if they were half-heartedly trying to pass as anon. Of course I realize that even if someone did get fooled they probably wouldn't call out their friend so I'm not even sure what I was trying to accomplish.

Yeah. I don't know. I actually don't really even have the time to read whole threads anymore, so I don't typically even read anon comments. Has there been much ugliness on the com besides in GC yesterday, I mean besides the dick targeting Chard? I guess I see your point in that your exercise in imitation was pointless and is now kind of on bad taste. :/ Seemed like a fun idea to me, as a sort of homage to recognizable posters, but you'd have to straddle the line between mocking and playful imitation.

It was kind of a combination of that thread and the thread case had to delete because someone shared a private picture of their friend's breasts and the link to where the lj user let her "friend" post on sf_drama from her account. I don't know why that did it for me but now it feels wrong to pretend to be someone else on here. I'll miss it though. Even now I have to think about every sentence carefully because I keep lapsing into phrasing it like who I think would make this kind of comment.

NGL, this is pretty funny. As long as you weren't mean spirited in your comments (er...at least OOC'ly so) or intentions (and it sounds like you weren't), I don't see a huge problem with it. Considering the current situation in the comm I'm not sure it's wise to continue, though. (But of course you already knew that.)

A couple of times I've seen anon comments that I almost thought were a friend of mine for a moment, except for some little thing that made me realize it couldn't be (or something outside of that, like me knowing she hasn't been online all day).

Now I'm wondering if any of those were you! You could have come pretty close, anon. :)

Thank hell I'm inimitable.
