Coding and writing are two completely different skill sets. Yes, bad HTML will make your fic more difficult to read, but if someone's a good enough writer, that can easily be overlooked.

Agreed. And if a mistake in the header is enough to put someone off a fic, I think they're really not easily pleased. I get that when someone puts the whole fic in tiny green font it may not be worth the trouble, but as long as I can read the header I really don't care what it looks like.

That's when cntrl + comes in handy to enlarge the font. I really miss this browser button I had that I can't find the site for again that let me override the webpage color schemes to what I wanted (usually white background/black text). It was awesome.

But...basic coding, especially on LJ, is really not that hard. I suck ass at coding language and I can still do basic HTML to make my shit readable.

I don't know if I doubt their intelligence or level of caring about how their work is presented, but seeing shit like that just makes me not want to read their fic. Maybe I am difficult to please when it comes to fic, and that might be why I don't read it so much anymore, but it just looks so sloppy... I'm baffled that anybody could look at that after they posted and think, "Eh, good enough," and just leave it.

- not OP, just an anon who gets the sentiment

Okay? Some people just don't mind their hobbies not look perfect, some people honestly don't get coding at all [believe me, I know several who would do what's in that picture or worse even if they tried to fix it]. Just because you can do something, or care about something, doesn't me other do or should.

By the same token, if it makes you not want to read it then don't. Problem solved.
