My ex actually taught me a trick for making eggs over-easy. Cook them in about a half inch of oil; they will float on top of the oil, and the yolk won't break when you flip it. Certain types of vegetable oil are pretty cheap, too, esp if you get it in bulk.

Granted, I usually just get them at restaurants too, because I don't have much other reason to keep a whole bunch of vegetable oil around. My ex and housemates cooked a lot with it, instead of butter, so it was always around.

My stomach is actually doing flip-flops just thinking about that. I can not handle oily foods....

Actually, it doesn't come out oily! You'd think it would, but it doesn't, which really surprised me. I can't handle oily or greasy foods either because of the family shitty gall bladder (which, I will probably have to have out at some point, but until then...)
