It doesn't make sense NOT to make him super smart. He's an alien, everything else about him is super, so why should he have the brain of an average human?

Also, no, it doesn't. Being super smart doesn't mean much other than 'he can calculate numbers really fast' and 'he can solve equasions really fast'. He's still naive, still infallibly good and sees the best in everyone, he's not Batman in that he isn't a trained detective and isn't a crazy paranoid who suspects everyone and plans for people to betray him. And people like you who think he's 'too good' or 'too perfect' to be likeable will exist whether he'd be super smart or not, so that's a nonissue.

Making him an idiot (which happens more often than not) or a jerk just to make him 'interesting' makes him less likeable, if you ask me.

Somebody write a story where Superman also has super emotions. TIA

(This may already have happened) (It definitely sounds familiar) (But that might just be because I'm ganking the concept from a Ted Sturgeon story)
