I have a roommate who tried his damnedest to get me into those stupid .movs/comic thing on tumblr or where ever the fuck it is. He explained it to me and all I could think was, ".....are you fucking KIDDING ME?"

When the characters are so mutated into being nothing like they are on the show, fuck off, I'm not interested. I think he finally got the idea when I refused to play their dumbass table top game.

And the thing is, he says he's not a brony, but is EXACTLY. LIKE THEM.

Hi,
I think I owe you an apology. I have been working on the assumption that you're a troll, or a bored SJW looking for any old fight, or just random internet scum looking to belittle people to make yourself feel big. Not trying to be a cunt about it, that's just how I've been reading your posts and subsequently judging you.

But now I'm suspecting that I was wrong. I think you have a bit of an issue with these people. I'm thinking you might have a specific personal problem / history that's seriously colouring your view of 'Bronies' and other disagreeable fans of the show.

With this new insight, and with no intention of belittling you, I have to say, to a casual observer, the level of vitriol is a little on the unhealthy side, so I'm thinking you might have your own reasons for the hate beyond 'Some people in the fandom are horrible people'. I don't care to know what your reasons might be, but if I might offer my thoughts: You might want to think about taking some action. Be it leaving the fandom until you're feeling more... leveled, or something to help you cope a little easier with the people in this fandom... I dunno, not much help I know, its just a thought.

I have yet to meet a single person that considers either of those two things to be canon and I haven't even seen any fanfiction based on them. The only thing to even remotely spin off of them is fan art of sweetie bot, and nobody considers that canon outside of FiW.

Even the .mov videos are of questionable popularity after the gore and stupidity was ramped up to 11 most people I've talked to either stopped watching them midway through or are at various degrees of disgust surrounding them and most of the others are just fans of the animation quality.

Overall, I guess this secret just confuses me, where are you running into people like this, I haven't even seen any of this on the cesspools that are youtube comments and tumblr. The only answer I can come up with is sweetiebot and I've still never heard of anyone treating that as anything other than a joke or interesting concept piece

I've watched all of the .movs, nothing in them made me want to stop, yet I didn't like them. I'm not sure if I was hatewatching or if I just wanted some ponies. I've never been that into most of the fandom either. No fic, no comics, the music doesn't really do it for me.


Friendship is Witchcraft though.

I know this is going to sound really fucking dorky, but I'm not gonna lie. Shed.mov gave me nightmares for a week. I'm not a fan of gore to begin with, but it was really that creepy little song that did it. But since I'm pretty sure that was at least partially the intention, I guess I have to give the maker props for that. Anyway, I'll admit that there are a few funny moments here and there in that series, but I don't really understand the amount of love I've seen for it.

(For the record, I find FiW to be a lot funnier than PONY.MOV, though I enjoy both. I just think FiW does the whole Abridged Series-type thing rather well.)

I watched one episode of FiW on a friend's recommendation and thought it was boring. Well-done, but boring. I didn't laugh once. All the same old abridged series jokes etc.

I think I might have seen one episode of the other thing a long time ago?

Anyway I don't think those are a huuuuuuuuge in the fandom as you're making them out to be, but I really don't know...could be that either you or I are hanging out in really specific places (or both)

Friendship Is Witchcraft the quality and mood changes a lot through the series

I liked a lot the first 5 (in particular 1, the one with the Parasprites, 3, the one with the dragon, and 5, the one with Sweetie Belle and Rarity), but hated the sixth one (the one with Luna) because they changed the type of humor, found Cherry Bomb offensively bland and actually liked Foaly Matripony

the first five are centered around what a crappy world they live in and how terrible most of the characters are, the sixth one had rapid-fire pop-culture references every five seconds type of humor and makes Luna have an almost impossible to understand accent, the sixth one was just... god i don't know, and the last one was once again aggressive about the messed-up-ness of the setting



I've liked all the songs, though



as for the MOV ones... eh, not my thing

imagine a particularly depraved Ren & Stimpy, in style and execution
