I don't think that GRRM is unredeemably misogynistic but I do think there's some grody stuff in ASOIAF. It's not just about whether GRRM does brutal things equally to male or female protagonists, it's about how he writes those and how he treats them, and there's a lot of moments where GRRM gets really porny or creepy when he's dealing with female characters and almost none with male characters. It's not a dealbreaker (and I don't think it's overlaps that much with the arguments regarding his treatment of rape) but there are times when he writes in a style that is creepy. You can't just look at "number of bad things that happen".
