But there is a difference. Theon is ONE dude, and he is raped and tortured by Ramsay who is GRRM's OTT, Complete Monster, 100% villanious character, because only such a creature could fathom a horrible crime like raping a man.
Male rape is apparently such a unconceivable horror that Arya disguises herself as a boy so she won't be raped because no one would rape a boy.
Meanwhile, pretty much all of the female characters are under the constant, ongoing, normalized threat of abuse and rape, by nearly EVERY man since some of the rapist are even the woobies we're supposed to feel sorry for ( Tyrion Lannister, anyone?)or the guys they're supposed to fall in wuvsies with (Dany and Drogo, anyone?).
How can you not see the difference?
