Your favourite book

If you had to choose one book as your favourite ever, which one would you choose?

Little, Big, by John Crowley. God, I love that book. Beautifully written, deals with its subject matter in a perfect way - has such a range in where the plot goes but it all manages to hang together. Has one of my favorite endings of any book ever. Such an amazing book.

The Name of the Wind by Pat Rothfuss (I love the second one too, but I love this one more, and it said only one book)

Pride and Prejudice. I kind of hate myself for saying that, but it's the truth.

ONLY ONE WHAT KIND OF SADISTIC MONSTER ARE YOU lol j/k

Hmmmm. Very difficult to say.

Cat's Cradle. Yes, if I were stranded on a desert island and could only have one book to reread forever, it would have to be Cat's Cradle.

.....as soon as I hit post I will probably think of a dozen better contenders.....

I have a long, long list, but Good Omens is always the one that comes to mind first when I get asked this question. So, Good Omens.

Not Wanted On The Voyage by Timothy Findley. It's pretty much bible fanfiction about Noah's Ark, full of magical realism and unhappiness. I love it.

The Good Earth, by Pearl S. Buck. The prose is beautiful, the setting is moving and (I presume) realistic, and O-lan is one of my favorite characters in literature.

Before that it was Life of Pi, by Yann Martel, mostly because it was the first book I ever looked closely at and found real meaning in out of choice.
