IMO, sweats are one thing - I've gone to places in sweats when I don't feel like spending the extra 10 seconds wrestling with my jeans. But if you're wearing like Hello Kitty-printed fleece bottoms, I'm raising my eyebrow. I try not to judge, but it's one of those things that's been drilled into my head since I was small that it's sloppy, so all I can think is that they give absolutely no fucks about their appearance, and I'm not sure whether to be annoyed or sad. I know there's no logical reason that they should give any fucks about it, but it's hard to get rid of that stigma when most of society generally follows it :/

I included sweats because I've heard from people similar, "Omg why do women go out dressed that way" before in regards to sweats.

And for me it's the same difference because my pajamas are generally very plain, and the only difference between them and my sweats is that they have a different cut to them.

And my sister uses her sweats like I use my pajamas- they are lounge wear.

Interesting. I love pajamas for lounge-around-the-house-wear, personally, so if it occurs to me at the last minute that I'm missing an ingredient for dinner, I run out to get it in my Hello Kitty pj pants just as though I was in sweatpants rather than bother throwing on my jeans.

This. It just looks slobby and lazy, especially because it's not as if it's that much work to put on a pair of sweatpants or track pants and a t-shirt.
