It occurred to me recently that even though I'm not into Naruto anymore, I still ship InoSaku and SakuHina like burning and still regard many of the characters fondly.

Anybody else?

I still ship all my ships, even in the fandoms I haven't been in in ages.. . Same with characters I like, I don't stop liking a character or shipping a ship even after I've moved on from the fandom. It just gets less attention than my current ships and favourite characters.

Sometimes, when I've run out of fics to read in my current fandom, I go back to old fandoms and reread old fics I liked and/or new thats that have popped up since I've been gone.

Then there's times where I move on, then rewatch/play/read something and jump right back into old fandoms again and more often than now I ship the same things.

Oddly enough I don't think I have ever stopped shipping anything, I have at times added to my shipping in old fandoms upon rewatching them.

Depends. I guess the default is that I still ship the ships I used to ship (= will still read fic about them when I'm in the mood for fanfic), but sometimes something makes me change my mind. I could come back to a show after being away from it for a long time, for instance, and find that I like one of the characters less than I used to. Even if I move on from the show again, I still won't ship them any more. Or the pairing might start squicking me, e.g. because I realize it carries some unfortunate implications that I didn't catch before.

I'll add to the chorus of 'Yup me too.' Sometimes I'll get hit with the urge to read fic for one of my older ships and I'll drown in a sea of feelings for a few hours and then carry on as normal.

Ichigo/Renji, even though I haven't touched Bleach since like five or six years ago. I recently poked around the tag for it on tumblr and just got so nostalgic. Not enough to make me go back to the series, of course, but damn.

Yeah. I don't really pay attention to the HP fandom anymore, but I'll check out pretty much any newer Snarry fic and like to reread ones I have fond memories of.

I tend to completely lose interest in shippings once I move on from a fandom, but characters are a different story. Like I'm still really fond of the main cast of the first two seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh, and I just love them and all their friendships and every time I think about them I want to hug them all... despite the fact that I haven't followed that show since I was like, nine, and the few times I have tried to watch it since then I found the plot too boring to sit through an episode.

I don't move on from fandoms or characters really, I just kinda put them on the shelf when I stop being interested in being fannish about the work they're from. I still love them, I just don't play around with them anymore.

If you mean being fannish about a single character or ship even though I don't do anything with the fandom anymore...hmm...gotta say I can't recall doing this. If I'm active in a fandom, it's usually the whole fandom or nothing at all.

yeah i realized last night that there is a new mgs game that i don't have, so then i started watching random mgs shit and was like oh i still ship everything

i mean, basically everything, don't curr about raiden's lovelife despite breakdancing

They're so blind it's cute. Word of Kojima says it's canon, and it's written everywhere in the games. Even the character's movements, clothes and voice are coded as one of a extremely flamboyant, metrosexual guy. He cannot not be gay. (Maybe bi, but yeaaaah).

Totally. Once I ship a pairing, the fire for them burns onwards even when I've left the fandom behind. I still read fics from my old OTPs from time to time.

Harry/Draco, though i don't even read it anymore, and Spike/Xander. Spike, be still my heart. :)

Aragorn/Boromir with a bit of Merry/Pippin on the side.

And Kirk/Spock. Yes, I'm that old. :)

Zutara always and forever, partly because of the epic wars that happened way back then.

Some, and I've realised that most of the ships and characters I continue to treasure even after leaving the fandom are the side characters and rarepairs. I've distanced myself far from the Katekyo Hitman Reborn! fandom, but I'll always adore Dino Cavallone and the Hibari/I-Pin ship. I have a huge soft spot for that ship because back when the fandom was still new, I was the one who encouraged activity for it. I see it has a few more fics now that it did when I last checked, and I'm proud of that.

I don't think I've ever really stopped shipping my favorite pairs. I may be busy doing other things so I won't think about it for years, but if it ever comes up again for whatever reason I still love them to bits.
