Ah, well I've lived in Canada since I was a year old, but I was born in Guatemala.

I was going to comment on your horchata comment above, but all I really had to say was something dumb like, "UR HORCHATA IS WRONG. IT NEEDS MORE RICE :U", but I was worried it would sound unintentionally hostile ha.
But it does remind me that I should buy almonds since I'm craving creamy horchata now ♥

I lived in Guatemala for a year! It was on 2000. Dad has been working there since 1997, but in the year 2000 we all lived in a house at Quetzaltenango.

LATINO BEVERAGES REPRESENT! Thanks for pointing out about the rice ;D And now I've made myself thirsty, lol.

Ahhh that sounds so lucky imo. I've only ever been to Santa Cruz and Zacapa for a few weeks to visit relatives when I was a kid, but I really miss the place and my probably inaccurate kid memories of it. So I'm hoping my plans to go back this year with my mom work out.

Even without the rice the drink's pretty much homemade almond/rice milk, minus the additives. I know I'm definitely picking up a cheese cloth and those almonds for sure I don't care that I have to wait a couple of days to drink this it's so tasty
