You're right. We totally don't need more anime about hot dudes.

Not to say we need more moe girl anime either, but seriously, this is far from an underrepresented market.

It's fine if they do. I'm just bewildered by the idea that there's... not a ton of hot-guy anime out there already? Because there is. Also a ton of moe girl anime (which I'm pretty much over), but yeah.

Yes, we need them. Each season there is like 15 series pandering to moe-girls loving otaku, and at best ONE series with bishounens pandering to female audiences. We want more shows with hot guys.

anime about hot dudes =/= moe anime with dudes. people mean a show like k-on or hidamari sketch or the like but with male leads. you know, dudes being cute for 20 minutes. that is a market that....doesn't really exist.

Ah okay that makes sense.

That being said I would assume if this anime does happen (as of now I'm pretty sure it's just a commercial), it's going to be a sports anime? Which is a very big genre.

yeah, probably. i don't know why people seem to think it would be otherwise but i haven't seen the CM it's from so. maybe it's only wishful thinking lol.

Moe isn't always about chara-design. It's about a feeling that you have for a certain character and a hot dude/bishounen can be moe and do cute stuff for 20 minutes.
But it's true that there's less anime with cute boys. Right now I can just think of Kimi to boku and Tsuritama.
