"Aural sex"

For me, and especially with certain seiyuu,, it's all ... timbre, I guess, or harmonics. ~ Not understanding the language is a benefit, somehow, as taking in the words visually via subtitles ( or not even knowing the words at all) allows the sound of the voice to become condensed emotion. (To me opera works this way as well. ~ Now, I accept that some of those guys might not be considered "good" actors to native speakers. Perhaps if I understood Japanese or Italian I'd find them stilted or melodramatic ... but since I don't, I am free to luxuriate in the sound of their dark, velvety, arrogance.

Phew. Just talking about it gets me all tingly. I'll be in my bunk ....
