Obviously it will differ from person to person, and some people will see it as a positive experience - I think it was Sacha Grey who mentioned she doesn't regret it one bit and that a lot of her scenes were inspired by her own ideas.

That being said, that doesn't mean abuses aren't rampant. Just recently I was reading this interview with a Dutch porn star (I forgot her name, sorry) who was telling about how she was basically forced into an anal scene without warning. The way she described it, it was basically rape.

There totally are more stories like that, about women showing up on a scene and being asked to do things that weren't previously agreed to. Or girls on "casting couches" who end up doing more tan they wanted to do for a few hundred bucks.

A lot of women in the porn industry are also previous abuse victims.

Of course there are porn producers with some integrity (I actually know one). And I'm not saying we should collectively stop watching porn or anything. But, I think it's important to acknowledge that bad shit goes on in some parts of the porn industry.

Louis Theroux made a show about the porn industry, it was in Hollywood I think. It was so disturbing, he kept feeling really upset and sickened, and yeah it was the way the women were treated. There was one scene I never forgot where a very young actress came into the room to meet the producer, he just pulled her onto his lap and penetrated her without even asking or even telling her that was what was going on, she objected and he just laughed. It really was vile.

The other film that I always remember is "Not a love Story" about abuse of women in porn, and the sort of violence and nastiness in some hard core.
