People are probably pairing him with Haytham because he's the only attractive option. The same thing happened with Supernatural. I don't know what's up with all the abuse, though.

Nah, I don't think that's true. I think there's plenty of "attractive options" to be had; Washington, Revere, Clipper, Dobby, Kanen'tó:kon, etc. However, the character he has the most chemistry with, is without a doubt (IMHO at least) Haytham.

I know, right?! That mission made me laugh so hard, definitely one of my favorites. If I ever manage to finish the five (yes, five -_-b) AC3 fics I currently have in progress, I'd love to write something with those two.

I definitely recommend getting the DLC, if you can! It felt pretty short, but if you ran around doing everything it still lasted... five-six hours, or so? Just be warned that it ended on a major cliffhanger -- which is probably why I felt compelled to write fic, LOL.

I don't know - from what few optional conversations you have with Lafayette, Connor seems to respect him and get along with him really well, and Lafayette respects Connor enough to give him his entire personal guard to command.

Plus Lafayette comes with canon crossdressing.
