I can empathize. :( I can barely look at any fic hubs for AC3 fanfiction because so much of it just turns my stomach. As for why Connor whump is so common, I would guess it's because he's seen as pretty naive and gets handed the short stick a lot in the game (even literally!), which is bait for that sort of thing. Add Haytham, and it's even more fucked up.
