I can't ship Haytham/Connor for the same reasons but the abuse stuff is pretty much par for the course in fandom imo. That combined with Haytham/Connor is why I never really did get into the fandom; I prompted some Connor/Washington stuff at the start then when no one showed any interest I moved on to other things. *shrugs* I would've loved to read some Norris/Connor tbh. Or maybe some Connor/Ellen.

As for the Haytham/Connor, they spend more time together than most the other characters, so there's more to work with. (I'm sure some people find the taboo hot, but that goes without saying.)
