ohgosh, remember chix? if this commenter had ever encountered chix they would not have to ask about this. Or the somethingawful brigade that used to come over every so often.

I have no idea who chix is but the name somethingawful rings a distinct bell. Could you refresh me?

chixb4dix practiced an extreme brand of feminism. I think she(?) might have actually confessed to being a troll at one point, but don't quote me on that.

SomethingAwful is a huge-ass website/community that's been around forever and is frequented mostly by geeky dudes, but not necessarily fannish ones. Several years ago, someone there discovered fandomsecrets and started a forum thread devoted to it, in which people mostly made fun of secrets they thought were ridiculous, which, to be fair, they usually were. Then a few of them started coming here, some of them to troll.

I may have to look up this Something Awful/Fandom Secrets thing. It sounds entertaining, tbh.
