I'm not familiar w/Apple products. At all. I got an Ipod Touch, 5th gen, for my b-day, and I need to buy a case for it. I've been looking at case reviews on Amazon, but I can't find what I'm looking for.

I want to be able to haul it around in my purse without damage, drop it w/o damage, and I walk outside/exercise w/it w/o damaging it. The reviews of the cases that do this complain the belt clip breaks--I can't find one that stand up to use. Is there one? Is there alternative?

I'd also like a kickstand on the case along w/a belt clip. If that's too much/not available, I might buy cases separately, so any recs for cases w/a kickstand on them?

Also, is there like a plug adapter for plugging into the wall for charging the Ipod? All I can find are lighting USB to computer power cord things.

I don't have to order from Amazon. I am in the USA. Thanks for any help you can give me.

There are a MYRIAD of doohickeys like that - if there's a Wallgreen's or Rite Aid or something similar nearby, they probably sell some small colorful ones in a box near the registers. USB chargers/adapters are really easy to find nowadays.

See, I think so, I can find them for non-Apple products like that one in the link you gave, but when I go to search for the Apple products version, I can't find them. My google-fu/search-fu on Amazon is lacking for some reason; I usually can find what I'm looking for. I just want a cord to power my Ipod that plugs into a wall outlet. I don't leave my computer running for the 4 hours it takes to charge an Ipod unless I'm using it, and sometimes it dies before/when I'm not in a position to use it, and I want to be able to plug my Ipod in, power it up, and go.

I've heard good things about Otterbox cases; think their defender case has a clip, I think. They're about $50, though, so I'm not sure if that's something you want to invest in. If you buy them first hand they'll replace your ipod if breaks, I hear.

Can't deny cheaper would be better, but if that's what it takes to get a decent belt clip, I'll just to pay it. I keep imaging the belt clip coming loose and it falling and my ipod going kaput. Most of the case reviews w/a belt clip that've read haven't been that encouraging (the clip breaks after a few hours/ipod did survive the fall though, etc).

Forgot to mention that's the retail price; you can probably find them for cheaper used. Hopefully you can find something! :D!

I've had Otterbox cases and personally didn't like them, but I am definitely in the majority on that. The case I had was for an iPhone 4 and I don't know if they've changed but it used to be that the screen protector was part of the case, not something that was in complete contact with the screen. The result was that the touch sensitivity was slightly impaired when I first got the case and after I'd had the case about 6 months the touch sensitivity was probably less than half of what it was when I took it out of the case. I also didn't like the bulk but there is no denying the case's protection value. I am the most accident prone person in the world and nothing happened to my phone in that case. It was the Defender series and I got a different one from them that didn't have the screen protection, which was a little better because at least I didn't have the touch sensitivity issue anymore. But it was even bulkier and I was working at a place where I couldn't wear my phone on my belt and it HAD to go in my pocket, so I wound up getting rid of the case.

I like Incipio cases but I can't find any that have a clip or kickstand. They provide enough protection for my iPhone in a drop (even on concrete as I've proved four times this week) but don't limit the phone's functionality like my Otterbox Defender case did.

I just called my brother who works at Best Buy and he says there are separate holders you can put on your belt that fit most major brand cases. I asked about Incipio and he didn't know off the top of his head and had customers, so he couldn't check. I don't like Best Buy's website (half the results aren't even things you can get from Best Buy) but if you live near one, maybe going in and having look or even asking one of the salespeople might help you find something suitable.

I'll have to do that. Thanks for telling me about your experience w/Otterbox; it sounds terrible and I'd definitely be mad if it reduced my touchscreen sensitivity permanently; I don't think it's all that to start with. Geez, how awful.

I'll have to check w/BB (it's a 30 min drive to it); I've not been there yet in person, but not any of the other stores I've browsed in person while running errands have had any ipod cases (Walmart, Sams, Kohls (they even had them in their ad!), Target).

I hadn't thought of separate holders--thanks for mentioning that.
