I'm an 8.5 in one shoe brand and 11 in another. WHAT IS THIS??

Oh wow I've never had that with shoes. What brands? That's ridiculous.

Vans for the 8.5 and Nike for the 11. US Womens, if you're curious.

Crazy. Well, at least I know to be wary of those brands.

Ugh, I KNOW THAT FEEL.

It doesn't help that I have the weirdest damn feet in the world. They're flat, and my heel is really narrow, so nothing ever fits there, but the end of my foot is really wide.

So basically I have duck feet.

Nah, my mom's toenails curl upwards. I'm sort of in the same boat as you, the end of my feet are super big.

That is the absolute cutest way to describe it though.

You haven't seen my mom's feet. She has Charcot Marie Tooth disease and had several surgeries on them when she was a teen in the '70s. So she's like a size 6.5 double-wide at the ball of the foot with a tiny heel and intense hammer toes. Partially because of the disorder (short tendons) and partially because the surgery was WAY more primitive then than it is now. Her poor feet!

I'm anywhere from 9 to 12 in women's shoes (US), usually tending towards 12. Shoe shopping is hell for me since most stores only carry up to 9.5.

Huh, that's weird, almost every store I go to has size 10s (my size), and a LOT of places carry 11s too (my mom's size).

I need to live where you live! I live in a pretty big city and still have trouble finding shoes. But if I travel to places that get a lot of tourists (my job sends me to Vegas, NYC, and Orlando a lot) I have much better luck finding things in my size.

Well, I just live in Colorado. Maybe the majority of people where you live have a bit smaller feet than here? Kind of odd, I would think it'd be a universal American thing, but I guess not. Good to know.

I feel you on that. I typically wear a size 11... meaning that 90% of the time, I end up shopping in the men's department. :\

The shoe vanity sizes really throw me. I seem to have shrunk several shoe sizes as I've gotten older and I know that, objectively, that's not true - if anything the opposite is true. And my men's shoe size has stayed the same since I hit puberty. Yet in women's sizes I seem to have withered from a 10.5-11 all the way down to a 9 or even 8.5. What the ever fucking fuck? I wear a men's 9.

Who exactly do they think they're fooling?
