Probably. The most popular fic I ever published was a Zutarian Snuff fic. A SNUFF FIC.

It got the most hits and likes because ZUTARA. BY ZUTARIANS. To this day my trolling has never failed as bad as it did that day.

Write popular, get hits. Get hits, get likes. I think as long as you don't just assume that formula is a substitute for quality or effort, you'll be fine.

by snuff-fic do you mean death-fic? Because a lot of shippers like stories where one half of the pairing dies... they like the emotionality of it, like any other kind of whump fic.
