You should care, because a doctor shaming a woman about her nose is misogyny. Which is the same thing that is happening when you're shamed for being fat. Misogyny. There is no such thing as fat phobia. yes you can be denied insurance and stuff like thay for being too big, but same with a lot of otherphysical and mental conditions that aren't anyone's fault so thats not fatphobia.

Women get held to a much harsher standard with respect to weight, yeah. Women are culturally encouraged to obsess about weight. Male public figures aren't reduced to their weight. A man's family and friends are less likely to decide they can comment on his weight.

But men face approximately the same health consequences from obesity, and I think doctors react with approximately the same amount of tyrannical dictates.

i believe this but so what? like i said i don't think having doctors be rude to you or insurance deny you is oppression by itself. when men are judged like that, i think it might fall under ableism , because the ways that theyre judged and denied help for their health problems are quite similar to the ways disabled people may be ostracized or not receive the help they need. this is also because men have to get to a much bigger weight before people judge them as less than human. lots of famous actors are on the chunky side, but people will tear apart an actress with one extra pound on her.

basically i agree with what u say but i think what you talk about in paragraph 2 is how people tend to define fatphobia, and why i think it just comes down to misogyny.
