She refused to answer the question specifically (potentially in order to avoid putting them down for slagging her off, since that would also be "not helping other women"), they chose to take it as a personal insult and mock her for it some more. There's no particular reason anyone needed to ask Taylor Swift to react to it in the first place except to shit-stir though, so I don't honestly feel she could have won regardless of what she said.

Wait, what? Sure there is. She could have either: a) played it off like the kitten-soft dig at her it was, and pretended to be a grown-up with a sense of humor about herself; or b) ignored the question entirely (without following up with an ever-so-thinly-veiled shot back at Fey and Poehler) and moved on to the next. But that also would have required her to pretend to be a grown-up for thirty seconds, so...

If you take an extremely public shot at a pair of very* talented comedians (or comediennes, however you want to spell it) though, no matter how vague, then you kind of have to expect that they're going to come back at you. Sorry not sorry.
