I found her boring, and the actress wasn't very good. She was hot, though.

I liked her in the comics. Smallville ruined her, just like it ruined everything else about Superman.

I couldn't stand her. My favorite female character from the show was Lois (well, and older!Chloe). Sure she was a damsel very often in distress, but I loved her attitude, her wit, and her fierce independence. Also, I feel she brought out the best in Clark. And by 'best' I mean his 'sass'. Guh, Clois. Why is the Clois corner of the fandom so lacking? I can't find any good fics for the life of me.

Anyway, Lana was just too much of a downer for my tastes.

I think it was just because she got in the way of a popular ship. Those women (and they're always women) tend to be hated into oblivion.

Not always. I thought she was irritating as fuck all in her own right and wanted her off the screen whenever she was on it.

Anyone who got their knickers in a twist over Lana because of shipping needs their head checked. It's fucking *Superman*. Of course he ends up with Lois, idiots.

Not entirely true. I only ever shipped Chloe/Oliver and Lana/Clark (smallville!Lana/Clark only, as I'm not interested in the DC-verse/The Adventures of Lois & Clark version of the pairing), and I've been pretty anti-Lana way before Lois made an appearance in the series.

To me, she's just not a likable character.

I didn't ship Clark with anyone in Smallville. I was a pretty heavy Lois/Ollie shipper, though.

Lana was a terrible, terrible character in the show. Kristen Kreuk cannot act to save her life.

Yeah maybe that. But also, she was boring.

I liked Lana... when she wasn't with Clark. I didn't mind her with Lex to be honest. I hated how they dragged out Lana & Clark's relationship at the end. I just wanted the lame angst between them to stop. I actually skipped scenes between them because I couldn't handle how trite and annoying they were together by the end.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-19 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
See, I wanted her to get together with Lex so badly...and then it happened, and I couldn't stand them together. But yeah, the way they dragged out the Lana/Clark relationship was ridiculous. I wasn't huge Lana fan, but I didn't hate her, and I was like, "Just put them together already. It's so obvious astronauts can see it from space!", and not always in a good way. Maybe it would have been more fun if the actors hadn't been so blah.

Honestly, Lana wasn't a great character, but she was better when she wasn't with anyone (which wasn't all that often, sadly).

She was very hit and miss for me. I don't think the writers wrote her character very consistently.
kyuusei: This is Iggy being adorable. Not that it's difficult. (Default)

Yeah, I liked her sometimes, and others it was 'wtf are they doing?' I liked her with Clark, but then it got old, like the writers didn't know how to break them up completely for a while.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-19 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
My thoughts exactly. She wasn't the worst character (at least not at first), but the way they made her so special to Clark and to every single person around her was probably turned what turned a lot of people off to her.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-19 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
She was tolerable to me early in season one and late in the series. All the time in between (with brief interludes for kick-boxing Lana)? Hated her whispering, woe is me, wants to have it both ways ("I can't be with you because of all your secrets and lies, Clark! But be my friend and do things for me!") way of being
